Grok Bot Galaxy put three people on a public stream from September 15 to 17 and asked if they could build a company in three days.
Matt Palmer, Lauren Tan, and Roshan Sadanani. A blank slate. Grok Bot for the research, the plan, and the engineering. I read that setup the way I read any demo that wants a week of my life. What is the claim, and what is still a person.
The claim going around is cleaner than the stream. No humans after day one. Personal output up by a factor of five or ten. A fleet that prints revenue while you sleep. I cannot carry any of that. The three of them were the stream. The assignment was three days, on camera, with the work happening in public. SpaceXAI's own guides describe a plainer pattern, and it is the one I trust. A chief of staff bot on top. A specialist for a lane. They can sit together and pass work. You stop being the person who copies text between tabs.
That pattern is hireable. The fantasy is not.
What I would not say
I would not walk into a conversation and say I prompt Grok Bot. Plenty of people will be able to say that by next week. I would not quote a multiplier I cannot open on a laptop. I would not say the humans left. The format of the stream was the opposite. They stayed.
Grok Bot is included with Cursor Pro. Writeups of the August expansion put that entry plan at $20 a month, and the bot usage sits in its own pool, separate from the editor. Useful. Also easy to misunderstand. It is not a stack of credits with your name on it. If the job is vague, the pool goes to chat. I have burned time that way. It feels busy. It falls apart when someone who pays asks what changed.
One loop, then a chief of staff
The stream can aim at a company because that was the assignment. My career version is narrower. One job I already do, with a finish line someone else can see.
The inputs stay the same each week. Last week's note. The new logs. The one number I already trust.
The bot returns a page, not a thread. I keep the line that says what changed and what it cost. I delete the line that could sit on anyone's site.
Only then do I add a chief of staff. Its job is to poke the specialist and keep the loop from going quiet. It is not a second personality. It is the person I used to be, the one routing work between tools, except I am no longer the router.
The interview version is almost boring, which is why it works. I open the laptop. Here is the bot. Here is the routine. Here is last Tuesday's page next to this Tuesday's page. The difference is a paragraph a stranger can check, not a feeling. If I cannot show two pages, I do not have a loop. I have a hobby.
What goes wrong is also specific. The first bot I stood up wrote like a status update. Warm. Empty. I had given it the topic and not the scar. Same miss as a bad prompt, only now it runs while I am in another tab. The fix was not a second personality. One line at the top of the job. What the page must contain. What to cut. After that, a chief of staff has something to look at. Before that, it is managing air.
I still would not tell a hiring manager I built a company in three days. I was not in that room. I can say I stopped being the router between tools. That sentence I can defend.
Three days on a livestream is a proof that the tool can hold a build in public. It is a bad proof of set it and forget it. I would copy the shape and leave the myth in the replies.
